New York Online Casino Bill Clears Senate Committee
A vote to legalize iGaming in New York moves a step closer, with operators already lining up market-access deals.
New York's iGaming bill (S.4856-B) cleared the State Senate Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee on 27 May 2026 with a 7–3 vote, advancing to a full Senate vote expected before the legislative session closes on 19 June.
The bill would authorise online casino gaming statewide under existing commercial casino licences. Estimated first-year tax revenue: $1.1 billion at a 30.5% gross gaming revenue rate.
DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars all secured market-access partnerships with New York's commercial casinos in 2023 in anticipation of legalisation; an additional six operators (including Hard Rock Bet and bet365) are believed to be negotiating now.
If passed, the bill would make New York the eighth state to legalise online casino - joining Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia.
